Uniforms

The secret of whether uniforms are a yes or no?

As much as I hate uniforms and can't wait to get rid of them once I graduate. They are really not that bad. First of all, the amount of money that you save by purchasing about ten to fifteen articles of clothing will cost around four hundred to five hundred dollars (depending on what you buy). For four years that's honestly a great deal. Cause you can go for a shopping spree and easily spend one hundred dollars on about two pairs of jeans and two shirts. An outfit you would wear for two days, before complaining that you have no clothes and automatically go back to the mall for another shopping spree. With uniforms you are able to save time that would be spend picking out clothes for the next day destroying your closet in the process. If you are like me who is indecisive then you know the struggles of spending hours messaging people to help you choose what outfit to wear the next day. Allowing everyone to get annoyed at your constant pictures so with uniform it saves the time and effort in trying to pick an effort. But let me tell you being a high school student is tough work! I'm not even talking about the about of work! You want to be all cool, wear all the latest trends even if that cost money just so we could fit in. Which brings me to my third point of the fact that wearing uniform also gives you a chance to" fit in". With hearing more than a thousand talks from adults about not bullying others and how everyone should feel like they fit in. Half of the student population won't admit that they themselves have the desire to fit in and not be an outcast due to the horrors of a high school reputation. So with wearing a uniforms that the whole school is wearing how could they go wrong in the attire they wear? The answer is they can't. We all would look the same with a few minor differences in regards to long sleeve or short sleeve to pants or a skirt. But overall we all look the same making us equal as students. So take my advice the secret is that uniforms are a yes, they save money, time and give you the confidence to fit in. Uniforms benefit in many ways that aren't seen to the naked eye, so uncover the secret to how great uniforms truly are.

The Body Of A Women:

Does this poem present an interesting view on love or is something else going on here?  Explain your opinion with specific references to the poem

This poem was written beautifully by Pablo Neruda, this poem is very interesting as it expresses a different opinion on love as well of the emotions love involve on a human. Though this poem is called a Body of a women which some may feel it is objectifying women in a sexual way in fact, it is much deeper than that. It is about love itself and the way they make a person feel (there is in fact a secret to the poem about love). In some of the lines in the poem like "I was lone like a tunnel. The birds fled from me, and nigh swamped me with its crushing invasion".
This line in particular describes the narrator feelings and how he/she was. The narrator in this case describes himself as lonely presumably saying he was lone like a tunnel before this "women" and love came. Describing his loneliness are birds and then this nigh swamped me, meaning then love came rushing in invading his life. The author then speaks about the way he viewed this love that came to him saying "To survive myself I forged you like a weapon, like an arrow in my bow, a stone in my sling".The author in this case felt the women to be dangerous because of his feelings for her. So he treated the women as a weapon, something dangerous that he had to protect himself from it. Referring to her as an arrow, or stone something that could hurt him if not handled carefully. But he could no longer resist her saying "But the hour of vengeance falls, and I love you". He no longer can hate her admitting he loves her. This poem is full of love for the women and the feelings he cannot resists. So the author isn't simply sexualizing the body of the women but the feelings of love for this person which he describes by talking about her body. The deeper part of this poem is that it is sadly about heartbreak/heartache these feelings cause. The author says "Dark river-beds where the eternal thirst flows and weariness follows, and the infinite ache". He says his feelings and thirst for her love is like a river always following but undeniably bringing him heartache. There you have it the secret to this poem is the heartbreak that follows due to these feelings. Quite sad right?
